“ONE MOST MODEST AND HIDDEN ADMIRER": letters from Liddy Mignone to Mário de Andrade

The aim of this article is to analyze how the music educator and singer Liddy Chiaffarelli Mignone reveals aspects of self-writng, in letters written during thr year 1937 to Mário de Andrade, manifesting a woman who puts herself in the background before the men with whom she live together. The set is archived at the Institute of Brazilian Studies at the University of São Paulo and this work uses the clipping containing 1 letters from an epistolary exchange between 1937 and 1945. The documentary clipping met the criterion that in 1937, the singer’s personal wrinting demonstrates professional activities, revealing a lot about how Liddy shows herself to her friend and takes a position in relation to the performance of Mário de Andrade, Francisco Mignone and Antônio de Sá Pereira during the Congress.  Nacional Sung Language, organized by the Departament of Cultures of São Paulo. For analysis, I resorted mainly to the authors Ginzburg (1989) hooks (2018), Sirinelli (1986) Gomes (2004), Bastos, Cunha e Mignot (2002). It is noteworthy that it is not enough for women to enter the world of work to achieve female emancipation. Awareness and demand for change are emperative to reverse the social position of women in Brazilian society.
