Resumo: The C 20-20, Manual of Military Physical Training of the Brazilian Army (Brazil, 2002), preconizes Intervalled Aerobic Training (IAT) in its content as one method of cardiopulmonary training. The aim of this study is to verify whether the pause of 90 seconds, recommended by C 20-20, is sufficient for the desired recovery (70% of maximum cardiac frequency –CFMAX, as well as to compare the concentration of blood lactate after an IAT session, in groups of soldiers with differing levels of physical conditioning. Taking part in this study, were 35 soldier volunteers, of male sex, in the 2nd year of the Military Engineering Institute (IME), divided in groups according to the results of the 12 minute run of the physical evaluation test The protocol of CFMAX used was of Tanaka et al. (2001).
