Teaching of Mathematics in Distance Education: State of Knowledge Artigo Original in the Productions of Revista EaD em Foco in the Last 10 Years

Resumo: Distance Education (DE) has gained increasing prominence as a teaching modality in the Brazilian scenario. With that, it becomes relevant to unveil not only the pedagogical practices used in this teaching modality, but also to understand the research that revolves around them. In this sense this article presents a state of knowledge about the modality of distance learning and the teaching of mathematics in the articles and case studies published until December 2019 by the Scientific Journal on Distance Education: EaD EM FOCO, coordinated by the Cecierj Foundation / Cederj Consortium. For this, the article briefly presents the research methodology of the state of knowledge, highlighting its main characteristics and defining its search scope. We organized the ten selected works into categories and, as recommended by the literature, we held discussions based on their authors. We found that, although DE is not new in the Brazilian scenario, the production related to the teaching of mathematics at DE emerges in the journal surveyed only in the last five years. The researched works dealt with the different actors that are part of distance education, such as tutors / mediators, students, teachers, school managers and official documents. In addition, some productions investigated the design of a virtual learning environment, as well as reported experiences with specific subjects in mathematics as an introduction to real analysis and instrumentation for teaching geometry. Com isso, torna-se relevante descortinarmos não só as práticas pedagógicas utilizadas nesta modalidade de ensino, como também compreendermos as pesquisas que giram em torno delas. É nesse sentido que este artigo apresenta um estado do conhecimento sobre a modalidade de ensino a distância e o ensino da matemática nos artigos e estudos de caso publicados até dezembro de 2019 pela Revista Científica em Educação a Distância: EaD EM FOCO, coordenada pela Fundação Cecierj/Consórcio Cederj. Para isso, este artigo apresenta de maneira breve a metodologia de pesquisa do tipo estado do conhecimento, destacando suas principais características e delimitando seu escopo de busca. Organizamos os dez trabalhos selecionados em categorias e, conforme preconiza a literatura, realizamos as discussões com base em seus autores. Constatamos que, apesar da EaD não ser novidade no cenário brasileiro, a produção relativa ao ensino da matemática na EaD emerge na revista pesquisada apenas no último quinquênio. Os trabalhos pesquisados trataram dos diferentes atores que compõem a EaD, como os tutores/mediadores, alunos, professores, gestores escolares e os documentos oficiais. Além disso, algumas produções investigaram o design de um ambiente virtual de aprendizagem, bem como relataram experiências com disciplinas específicas da matemática como introdução à análise real e instrumentação para o ensino da geometria.  Palavras-chave: EaD.
