The Social Representations of Undergraduate Students in Physics Teaching Degree about the Virtual Learning Environment in Support of Emergency Remote Teaching

Resumo: Abstract. The Covid-19 pandemic has significantly affected the lives of students, teachers and other sectors of society around the world. Due to the need for social distancing, schools and universities have had to adapt their classes to so-called virtual learning environments. There is a large number of works in the literature on the impacts of the pandemic on students' learning and behavior, but, without a doubt, there is room for investigation of possible social representations consolidated by massive exposure to digital communication and information technologies. In this sense, this work sought to map the social representations of a group of undergraduate students in physics teaching degree about the virtual learning environment during emergency remote teaching. Supported by the theoretical-methodological framework of the Central Core Theory, the results showed that students considered the importance of adopting the technological tool during the period of emergency remote teaching; however, they indicated that their teachers were unprepared in their use. Showing, therefore, the need for continued training for teachers working in the degree course in physics, aiming, above all, or working with technological tools aligned with pedagogies that potentialize the participation of students.   Keywords: Virtual learning environment. Emergency remote teaching.A pandemia de Covid-19 afetou significativamente a vida de estudantes, professores e demais setores da sociedade, em todo o mundo. Devido à necessidade do distanciamento social, as escolas e as universidades tiveram que adaptar suas aulas para os chamados ambientes virtuais de aprendizagem. Nota-se na literatura um grande número de trabalhos sobre os impactos da pandemia no aprendizado e no comportamento dos estudantes, mas, sem dúvida, há espaço para investigação das possíveis Representações Sociais consolidadas pela exposição massiva às tecnologias digitais de comunicação e informação. Nesse sentido, este trabalho buscou mapear as Representações Sociais de um grupo de estudantes de licenciatura em física sobre o ambiente virtual de aprendizagem durante o ensino remoto emergencial. Apoiado no referencial teórico-metodológico da Teoria do Núcleo Central, os resultados mostraram que os estudantes reconheceram a importância da adoção da ferramenta tecnológica durante o período do ensino remoto emergencial; entretanto, sinalizaram despreparo de seus professores em sua utilização. Mostrando, portanto, a necessidade de formação continuada para os professores atuantes no curso de licenciatura em física, visando, sobretudo, o trabalho com as ferramentas tecnológicas alinhadas com pedagogias que potencializem a participação dos estudantes.    Palavras-chave: Ambiente virtual de aprendizagem.
