Nursing Graduation in Times of Covid-19: Reflections on Technology-Mediated Education

Resumo: Abstract. The present study aims to reflect on the possibilities of Distance Learning (DL) in the training of nurses during the Covid-19 pandemic and to present considerations on the teaching mediated by technologies for the training of nurses in the post-pandemic.In this way, through a theoretical-reflective study, the discussion was built from 3 sessions: i) Training of nurses in times of pandemic: the uncertain reality of technology-mediated teaching; ii) Teachers and the use of remote teaching in an emergency due to the Covid-19 pandemic; iii) Future for the education of nurses in the face of new challenges.The results showed that the use of emergency remote education as an alternative to minimize the damage to students should still be the object of investigation. However, this process will certainly have special consequences for education in Brazil. Nursing professors and students are reinventing themselves to face this new challenge and face-to-face undergraduate nursing courses in the post-pandemic have the perspective of absorbing the current experience and seeking innovations, articulating hybrid forms of presential moments and technology-mediated teaching. Naturally, without abandoning the idea of the importance of face-to-face classes in the training of nurses. Keywords: Nursing. Distance Learning. Pandemics. Coronavirus infections. Educational Technology.O presente estudo tem como objetivos refletir sobre as possibilidades de Educação a Distância (EaD) na formação de enfermeiros durante a pandemia da Covid-19 e apresentar ponderações sobre o ensino mediado por tecnologias para formação de enfermeiros no pós-pandemia. Desse modo, por meio de um estudo teórico-reflexivo, construiu-se a discussão a partir de 3 sessões: i) Formação de enfermeiros em tempos de pandemia: a realidade incerta do ensino mediado por tecnologia; ii) Docentes e uso da modalidade remota de ensino em caráter emergencial em virtude da pandemia da Covid-19; iii) Futuro para educação de enfermeiros diante dos novos desafios. Os resultados demonstraram que a utilização do ensino remoto emergencial como alternativa para minimizar os danos para os estudantes ainda deverá ser objeto de investigação. Entretanto, esse processo certamente terá consequências especiais para educação do Brasil. Professores e estudantes de enfermagem estão se reinventando para o enfrentamento desse novo desafio e os cursos presenciais de graduação em enfermagem no pós-pandemia têm a perspectiva de absorver a experiência atual e buscar inovações, articulando formas híbridas de momentos presencias e de ensino mediado por tecnologia.
