Teachers' Perceptions of Technologies in Health Education

Resumo: In view of the current changes in education, there has been a great advance in technologies at all levels of education and in different areas of knowledge. This article aimed to reflect and discuss the role of teachers in relation to technologies in health education. This qualitative research was based on the Oral Life History method. Ten free interviews were conducted with teachers of health education from different courses (undergraduate, graduate and technical courses). The sample consisted of two doctors, two psychologists, one biomedical, three pedagogues, a nurse and a professor of technology in health and hospital, working in public and private universities in the city of São Paulo. For data analysis, the Immersion and Crystallization method was used, according to the Hermeneutic Phenomenological Approach. As a result, only a single thematic category was explored: Teachers facing the Technology of Distance Education: problems and challenges. It was concluded that the implementation of technological resources in Distance Education is in a gradual process of changes in educational paradigms; adaptation of teachers and students; need for teacher qualification and failures in university infrastructure. Health teaching.  Diante das atuais mudanças na educação notou-se um grande avanço das tecnologias em todos os níveis de ensino e em diversas áreas do conhecimento. Este artigo teve como objetivo refletir e discutir sobre o papel do docente frente às tecnologias no ensino em saúde. Esta pesquisa qualitativa pautou-se no método de História Oral de Vida. Foram realizadas dez entrevistas livres com os docentes do ensino em saúde de diferentes cursos (graduações, pós-graduações e cursos técnicos). A casuística foi composta por dois médicos, dois psicólogos, um biomédico, três pedagogos, um enfermeiro e um docente de tecnologia em saúde-hospitalar, atuantes em universidades públicas e privadas na cidade de São Paulo. Para análise dos dados, utilizou-se o método de Imersão e Cristalização, segundo a Abordagem Fenomenológica Hermenêutica. Como resultado explorou-se apenas uma única categoria temática: Os docentes frente à Tecnologia da Educação a Distância: problemas e desafios. Concluiu-se que a implementação dos recursos tecnológicos na Educação a Distância está em processo gradativo de mudanças de paradigmas educacionais; adaptação dos docentes­-discentes; necessidade de qualificação dos professores e falhas na infraestrutura das universidades.
