Trends in Moodle Learning Analytics: a Systematic Review

Resumo: | Learning Analytics is the field of study that uses analytical methods and information technology to collect, analyze and interpret data related to the learning process. The relationship between Learning Analytics and Moodle is quite significant. Through Moodle, it is possible to collect a large amount of data about student engagement, performance, interactions, and other relevant aspects. Therefore, this paper presents the results of a Systematic Literature Review (SLR), which analyzed 24 articles selected from Abed, IEEE, SBC, ScienceDirect, SCOPUS and SpringerLink databases. The results showed that dropout analysis, performance, personalization, self-regulation and course completion are the main areas of research, highlighting the frequent use of data in Moodle for pattern discovery and predictions. Highlighting the potential to improve academic performance, reduce dropout, personalize instruction, improve interaction and increase student engagement. Keywords: Learning Analytics. Moodle. Systematic Review.O Learning Analytics é o campo de estudo que utiliza métodos analíticos e tecnologias da informação para coletar, analisar e interpretar dados relacionados ao processo de aprendizagem. A relação entre Learning Analytics e Moodle é bastante significativa. Através do Moodle, é possível coletar uma grande quantidade de dados sobre o envolvimento dos alunos, seu desempenho, interações, entre outros aspectos relevantes. Diante disso, este trabalho apresenta os resultados da Revisão Sistemática da Literatura (SLR), que analisou 24 estudos selecionados nas bases da Abed, IEEE, SBC, ScienceDirect, SCOPUS e SpringerLink. Os resultados mostraram que análise de evasão, desempenho, personalização, autorregulação e conclusão de curso são as principais áreas de pesquisa, evidenciando o uso frequente de dados no Moodle para descoberta de padrões e predições. Destacando-se o potencial para melhorar o rendimento acadêmico, reduzir a evasão escolar, personalizar o ensino, aprimorar a interação e aumentar o engajamento dos alunos.
