Write the Academic Future: Experience Report of UFRRJ/CEDERJ Administration Students in an Extension Project

Resumo: Despite Brazil's prominence in the global scientific scene, the country still faces challenges regarding academic and scientific production, especially concerning academic reading and writing. The main goal of the research is to identify the major academic contributions for students of administration in the distance education modality when participating in a university extension project dedicated to the elaboration of critical reviews. To achieve the proposed objectives, a qualitative method with an explanatory approach was employed, and categorical content analysis was used to analyze the 17 semi-structured interviews. This study is inserted in the context of the participation of students from the administration course at CEDERJ/UFRRJ in the extension project Lab.Lid – Resenhas. The results are presented in an experience report based on the students' perspective. The main conclusion of this study is that the production of critical reviews in extension projects can, in addition to improving academic reading and writing skills, stimulate students to participate in research projects and pursue postgraduate studies. The fundamental theoretical contribution of this report lies in expanding the understanding of the benefits related to the elaboration of critical reviews and participation in university extension projects. The central practical contribution consists of encouraging students to elaborate reviews, encouraging them to become more involved in research projects, and stimulating them to pursue postgraduate studies.   Keywords: Distance education. Extension Project.Apesar do destaque do Brasil no cenário científico global, o país ainda enfrenta desafios quanto à produção acadêmica e científica, sobretudo no que diz respeito à leitura e escrita acadêmica. O objetivo geral da pesquisa é identificar as principais contribuições acadêmicas para estudantes de administração na modalidade de ensino a distância ao participarem de um projeto de extensão universitária dedicado à elaboração de resenhas críticas. Para cumprir os objetivos propostos, empregou-se o método qualitativo de abordagem explicativa e utilizou-se a análise de conteúdo categórica para analisar as 17 entrevistas semiestruturadas. Este estudo se insere no contexto da participação de discentes do curso de administração CEDERJ/UFRRJ no projeto de extensão Lab.Lid – Resenha. Os resultados são apresentados em um relato de experiência baseado na perspectiva dos estudantes. A principal conclusão deste estudo é que a produção de resenhas críticas em projetos de extensão pode, além de aprimorar as habilidades de leitura e escrita acadêmica, estimular estudantes a participarem de projetos de pesquisa e a ingressarem na pós-graduação. A contribuição teórica fundamental deste relato reside na ampliação do entendimento dos benefícios relacionados à elaboração de resenhas críticas e à participação em projetos de extensão universitária. A contribuição prática central consiste em estimular os alunos a elaborarem resenhas, encorajá-los a se envolverem mais em projetos de pesquisa e estimulá-los a ingressarem na pós-graduação.   Palavras-chave: Ensino a distância.
