Resumo: | This research studies the phenomenon of students desistence from courses at graduate level at the Federal University of Ceara – UFC, from the teachers and coordinators perspectives. Having made a revision of the literature available on the matter and the investigations carried out by W. B. Andriola and his assistents, this text offers data from 52 teachers and 21 coordinators of courses at graduate level at the UFC. The results show that the majority of the coordinators and the teachers who were interviewed had a favorable opinion for the function of a teacher tutor. They were also of the opinion that the coordinators are responsible to offer relevant and pertinent information to all candidates for graduate courses at the UFC. Finally, they felt that it up to the administrator to improve the physical infra-structure with special attention to the classrooms and the laboratories. |

Despues de una breve revision de la literatura y de la presentacion de investigaciónes llevadas a cabo por W. B. Andriola y colaboradores, son descriptos datos obtenidos con 52 docentes y 21 coordinadores de cursos de graduacion de la UFC. Los resultados atestan que la mayoria de los coordinadores y de los docentes entrevistados tienen la opinion favorable al rescate de la funcion del profesor orientador. Tambien creen que cabe a las coordinaciones fornecer informaciónes pertinentes y relevantes a todos los potenciales candidatos a los cursos de graduacion de la UFC. Finalmente, añaden que tocara al gestor dar relieve a la mejoria de la infraestructura fisica, con especial atencion a las clases y a los laboratorios.O texto aborda o fenômeno da evasao discente em cursos de graduação da Universidade Federal do Ceara – UFC, desde a perspectiva de docentes e de coordenadores.
