Evaluating the emotional education: subsidies to rethink the classroom

Resumo: | The emotional intelligence role inside and outside school demands " to educate" the emotions so that people become apt to deal with their frustrations, anguishes and fears. This article aims to evaluate the importance of the emotional intelligence in the education context, having these inquiries as starting point: Can Emotional Education contribute to the teaching-learning process, in favor of the balance between the students' rational cognitive and emotional aspects? In positive case, what theoretical-methodological ways can be traced and/or pointed so that the Emotional Education come true at schools? The methodological option was the research-action, accomplished in fifteen workshops, with participation of 14 professors, 1 coordinator and the researcher. The workshops results turned into a plan of action that aimed to disseminate the studies of the emotional education at schools. The research conclusions showed that emotional intelligence competences, as self-knowledge, self-management, social conscience and relationship administration, can contribute to the teaching-learning process quality, leading the human beings to balance their reason and emotions. |

Este artículo tiene como objetivo general evaluar la importancia de la educacion emocional en el contexto de la educacion, partiendo de las siguientes indagaciones: ¿sera que la Educacion Emocional puede contribuir en el proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje, favoreciendo el equilibrio entre aspectos cognitivos racionales y emocionales del educando? En caso positivo, ¿que caminos teorico-metodologicos pueden ser trillados y/o apuntados para que la Educacion Emocional se torne realidad en las escuelas? La opcion metodologica fue la investigación-accion, realizada en quince talleres, con participacion de 14 docentes, 1 coordinador y la investigadora. Los resultados de los talleres se constituyeron en un plan de accion que viso diseminar los estudios de la educacion emocional en las escuelas. Las conclusiones de la investigación apuntan que las competencias de la inteligencia emocional como auto-conocimiento, autogestion, conciencia social y administracion de las relaciones, pueden contribuir para la calidad del proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje, conduciendo el ser humano al equilibrio de la razon y de la emocion.O papel da inteligencia emocional dentro e fora da escola, exige " educar" as emocoes para que as pessoas tornem-se aptas a lidar com frustracoes, angústias e medos. Este artigo tem como objetivo geral avaliar a importância da educação emocional no contexto da educação, partindo-se das seguintes indagacoes: sera que a Educação Emocional pode contribuir no processo de ensino-aprendizagem, favorecendo o equilibrio entre aspectos cognitivos racionais e emocionais do educando? Em caso positivo, que caminhos teorico-metodologicos podem ser trilhados e/ou apontados para que a Educação Emocional se torne realidade nas escolas? A opcao metodologica foi a pesquisa-ação, realizada em quinze oficinas, com participação de 14 docentes, 1 coordenador e a pesquisadora. Os resultados das oficinas constituiram-se em um plano de ação que visou a disseminar os estudos da educação emocional nas escolas.
