Professional education: current policies targeting the qualification of vocational education in Brazil

Resumo: | This study proposes an analysis of the current situation of higher education regarding technology and the future prospects for professional education in Brazil. The research takes a qualitative exploratory approach, aiming to identify the importance of current public policies focusing on training and qualifications in vocational and higher education courses in technology. Data were collected from the statistics of the Census of Higher Education as well as from documents on the subject of professional education, which came from the Sistema S and federal education. The study results show the increased number of vacancies in higher education and the prospect of a better qualification of vocational education by institutions and note the need to develop new proposals to help students access training programs for technology in higher education in Brazil. |

A pesquisa tem uma abordagem qualitativa de carater exploratorio, com vistas identificar a importância das politicas públicas atuais direcionadas à formação e a qualificação do ensino profissional e dos cursos superiores de tecnologia. Os dados foram coletados a partir das estatisticas dos Censos da Educação Superior, bem como de documentos sobre o tema da educação profissional, a partir das experiencias do “Sistema S e dos Institutos Federais de Educação”.
