Impacts of educational policies on the dynamics of school organization: reflections from the perspective of the teaching staff of a municipal school system

Resumo: The present study examines the impacts of actions resulting from educational policies on the dynamics of school organization, from the perspective of a group of teachers of a Municipal School System in the Metropolitan Area of Porto Alegre, RS. The analyses are structured on the conceptions of life-world (HABERMAS, 1999, 2001), school life (MCLAREN, 1997) and the sociology of school organization (BALL, 1989, 2006). Evidence was collected by means of document analysis, semi-structured interviews, written narratives, and discussion group. A group of teachers with ten years teaching practice at those schools participated in the study. Their reflections reveal that, in view of the actions resulting from the educational policies, the teachers’ attitude is either of agreement/ or disagreement, whose complexity, in this study, is separated into three qualitative dimensions: participation, imagination and alienation.

Las narrativas se estructuran en la concepcion de mundo vivido (HABERMAS), vida de la escuela (McLAREN) y sociologia de la organizacion escolar (BALL). Las evidencias se recogieron por medio de analisis de documentos, entrevistas semiestructuradas, narrativas escritas y grupo de discusion. Colaboro con el estudio un grupo de profesores con diez años de docencia en estas escuelas. De las reflexiones producidas se deduce que, ante las acciones derivadas de las politicas educacionales, la actitud de los profesores es de adhesion o disentimiento cuya complejidad, en este estudio, se analiza en tres dimensiones cualitativas: participacion, imaginacion y alienacion.Este estudo examina impactos de acoes decorrentes das politicas educacionais na dinâmica da organização escolar, sob a otica de um grupo de professores de uma Rede Municipal de Ensino da Regiao Metropolitana de Porto Alegre. As analises estruturam-se na concepcao de mundo vivido (HABERMAS, 1999, 2001), vida da escola (MCLAREN, 1997) e sociologia da organização escolar (BALL, 1989, 2006). As evidencias foram coletadas mediante analise de documentos, entrevistas semiestruturadas, narrativas escritas e grupo de discussao. Colabora com o estudo um grupo de professores com dez anos de docencia nestas escolas.
