Resumo: Antioxidant activity and rates of total phenolic compounds were determined by DPPH and Folin-Ciocalteu methods of aqueous and methanol extracts of leaves from Salvia officinalis L. and Eucalyptus grandis W. Hill ex Maiden. Phenolic compounds were found in all extracts, ranging between 7.28 and 13.008 mg rutin equivalent g-1 of dry weight. Antioxidant capacity was determined by inhibition percentage ranging between 54.86% and 88.82%. Eucalyptus and salvia extracts had higher rates than ascorbic acid and rutin. In fact, all extracts had strong antioxidant capacity and high free radical sequestrating activity.

Hill ex Maiden. Em todos os extratos foram encontrados compostos fenólicos, variando de 7,28 a 13,01 mg equivalente de rutina.g-1 de peso seco e o poder antioxidante foi determinado pela porcentagem de inibição que variou de 54,86% a 88,82%.
