Resumo: | Migraine is a syndrome that has been known for over 7,000 years, which affects a large portion of the world’s population in a higher or lower intensity. There is a high prevalence of migraine in the population, where 6% of men and 15% of women suffer from this syndrome and most of them have at least three crises per month. Migraine is a chronic form of primary headache which can be defined as an abnormal neurovascular reaction that occurs in the body and is exteriorized, clinically, by recurrent episodes of headache and associated events that normally depend on triggering factors. Because of the crisis, many patients abandon their activities, causing great social impact. There are several types of migraine, which complicate their diagnosis and treatment, so it is important that the patient recognizes the triggering factors of the crisis and try to avoid or minimize them, adopting changes in lifestyle that may contribute to a better quality of life. Being such a common illness among people, this research was carried out aiming at providing a brief report on the subject, highlighting the most common types of migraine. |
