Resumo: The production and use of exopolysaccharides are analyzed and the information obtained may be employed for the improvement of their production and future use. Levan polysaccharide will be discussed and a new field of exopolysaccharides will be highlighted, namely, a modified use of drugs. The new bio-molecules have contributed towards a modified use of drugs mainly according to a usage model of the active principal with direct benefits in the improvement of therapeutic efficiency.
