Resumo: Introduction:: Electromyography (EMG) is a noninvasive technique that aims to study muscle function through electric signal analysis that comes from muscles and is issued to the skin surface, this technique provides information on recruitment and synchronization of these units motor, changes in the speed of propagation of action potentials both at rest and during exercise and neuromuscular fatigue situations. The (EMG) enables accurate analysis, both qualitative and quantitative, during the act of drilling Objective: The objective of this study was to compare by electromyography the difference in activation of the gluteus maximus muscle compression pants use the squat exercise with bar . Methods: The study included 15 individuals, physically active, with previous experience in the squat exercise, travel volunteers UniCEUB of Physical Education. With use of surface electrodes was made comparative analysis glute activation with and without the use of compression pants during session 6 sets of 10 repetitions maximum. It adopted p <0.05 significance level. Results: EMG activation of the gluteus maximus showed no significant difference between the first series with pants (p = 0.999) and no pants (p = 0.866) and in the sixth grade with pants (p = 0.170) and no pants (p = 0.956). Conclusion: It is concluded that there was no significant difference between the activation of the gluteus maximus in the exercise (squat bar) with or without compression pants use. A (EMG) possibilita análises acuradas, tanto qualitativas quanto quantitativas, durante o ato da exercitação Objetivo: O objetivo deste estudo foi de comparar através da eletromiografia a diferença da ativação do músculo glúteo máximo com e sem uso de calça de compressão no exercício de agachamento com barra. Material e Métodos: Participaram deste estudo 15 indivíduos, fisicamente ativos, com experiência prévia no exercício agachamento, voluntários do curso de Educação Física do UniCEUB. Com uso de eletrodos de superfície foi feito analise comparativa da ativação do glúteo com e sem o uso calça de compressão durante sessão seis séries de 10 repetições máximas. Adotou-se p < 0,05 como nível de significância. Resultados: A ativação eletromiográfica do glúteo máximo não apresentou diferença significativa entre a primeira série com calça (p = 0,999) e sem calça (p = 0,866) e na sexta série com calça (p = 0,170) e sem calça (p = 0,956).
