Resumo: INTRODUCTION: The paper proposes to review literatures, investigate a pedagogical proposal of the struggles in Physical Education as a school discipline. This study seeks to clarify the purpose of the practice and its benefits. MATERIALS AND METHODS: A review of the specialized literature is published, where the materials used are academic journals and those that deal with issues related to martial arts in children's physical education and martial arts in a general context. Revisions are made to articles on approaches that address the goals, objectives and benefits of martial arts in conjunction with a pedagogical proposal of the struggles as a school discipline and a proposal of the National Curricular Parameters. LITERATURE REVIEW: Benefits vary from improving social behavior, moral development to personal growth in the construction of the subject. OBJECTIVE: However, this study aims to investigate a pedagogical proposal of the struggles as a school discipline. The paper proposes to review literatures by reading academic and scientific journals that clarify the purpose of the practice and its benefits.

Este estudo busca esclarecer o objetivo da prática e seus benefícios. MATERIAIS E METODOS: Constitui-se de uma revisão da literatura especializada, onde os materiais utilizados foram periódicos acadêmicos e científicos que abordassem temas referentes às artes marciais na educação física infantil e as artes marciais num contexto geral. São apresentadas revisões realizadas em artigos referentes às abordagens que tange a origem, objetivos e benefícios das artes marciais em conjunto com a proposta pedagógica das lutas como disciplina escolar e a proposta dos Parâmetros Curriculares Nacionais. REVISÃO DA LITERATURA: Os benefícios são diversos, desde a melhoria na conduta social, desenvolvimento moral até o crescimento pessoal na construção do sujeito. OBJETIVO: Contudo, este estudo tem como objetivo investigar a proposta pedagógica das lutas como disciplina escolar.
