Resumo: The article presents exhibition of legislative innovations aimed at promoting and introducing mediation as a method of self-composition of the conflict in procedures developed within the judiciary, and even out of it. Therefore, the focus turns to the lawyer's figure, once he must assume an important role as the responsible to change the litigant culture, still so ingrained the idea of the dispute. However, to occupy such a position, the lawyer should restructure some aspects of his professional life, setting new agenda and quality parameters related with the service offered, improving time and client’s satisfaction, once they experience the mediation.

Portanto, o enfoque se volta para a figura do advogado, uma vez que este deve assumir o importante papel de ente transformador da cultura jurídica, ainda hoje tão arraigada à ideia do litígio.
