Resumo:  The evolution of amicus curiae ruled it as enigmatic figure, on which hung many doubts. Such characteristics confirm its relevance to the law researcher due to involve extensive facets of an institute that today, by Article 138 of the CPC/2015, requires study and practice consolidation. After this regulation, there was wide expansion of its horizons of observation, of a figure that was once imbued with vast obscurity. Thus, considering the specificities of the law, this essay aims to present the institute and its peculiarities to, at the end, substantiate the possibility of acting in defense of (so essential) personality rights

Nuances tais que confirmam sua relevância ao pesquisador do direito por envolverem diversas facetas de um instituto que hoje, por sua regulamentação no artigo 138 do CPC/2015, demanda estudo e consolidação prática. Com referida previsão, ampliaram-se os horizontes de observação desta figura outrora imbuída de obscuridade.
