Resumo: The present paper analyses the evolution of collaborative consumption, that have a direct impact on sustainability issues, in the context of information society. To that end,we start from the pathologies of consumption in modern society, go through the different implications in social, environmental and economic questions, culminating in the study of the possible alternatives viable in the digital age. In conclusion, we found that the Internet rises as a valuable instrument, within collaborative economy standards, for reaching the social, environmental and economic sustainability, driving the development of an equal, fair and solidary society.

Nesse intuito, partimos das patologias do consumo na sociedade moderna, atravessando as diferentes implicações nas questões sociais, ambientais e econômicas, culminando com o estudo das alternativas possíveis viabilizadas na era digital.
