Resumo: | The objective of this study was to evaluate the relationship between entrepreneurial potential and creative leadership, as well as the relationship between these two variables and firm performance, firm size, gender, age and level of instruction of managers of civil engineering firms located at Curitiba, associated to SINDUSCON- PR. The sector was chosen due to its important contribution to national economy. The sample comprised 74 firms and data were collected from 74 managers and 222 direct collaborators. The managers supplied demographic data and answered a research instrument aimed at measuring entrepreneurial potential. Direct collaborators answered a research instrument that measured the presence of creative leadership in the managers´ behavior. Results pointed towards two gropus of managers: microentrepreneurs (55.4%) and entrepreneurs (44.6%) and two types of firms: standard teams (21.6%) and dream teams (78.4%). The results also evidenced that, for this sample, there is no significant relationship between entrepreneurial potential and creative leadership, no significant relationship between entrepreneurial potential and age of manager, no significant relationship between creative leadership and age of manager, a negative significant relationship between entrepreneurial potential and firm size, and no significant relationship between creative leadership and firm size. The study contributed towards a better understanding of the relationship between entrepreneurial potential and creative leadership, since its results differed from previous ones. |

The study contributed towards a better understanding of the relationship between entrepreneurial potential and creative leadership, since its results differed from previous ones.O presente estudo teve por objetivo avaliar a existência de uma associação entre o potencial empreendedor e a liderança criativa, bem como a associação destas duas variáveis com desempenho da empresa, porte da empresa, gênero, idade e grau de instrução dos dirigentes de um grupo de empresas de construção civil da cidade de Curitiba, associadas ao SINDUSCON-PR. A escolha do ramo de construção civil deu-se pela importância que este tem na economia nacional. Participaram desde estudo 74 empresas de construção civil da cidade de Curitiba e os dados foram coletados com 74 respondentes que exercem a função de dirigente e 222 colaboradores diretos destes dirigentes. Os dirigentes responderam um questionário de dados demográficos e um instrumento que tem a função de mensurar o potencial empreendedor do mesmo. Os 222 colaboradores responderam um instrumento que mensurava o grau de liderança criativa deste dirigente. Os resultados indicaram dois grupos de dirigentes: microempreendedores (55,4%) e empreendedores (44,6%). A análise das respostas sobre liderança criativa permitiu a identificação de dois tipos de equipes: as equipes do sonho (78,4%) e equipes padrão (21,6%). Além disso, verificou-se a inexistência de associação significativa entre potencial empreendedor e liderança criativa, entre potencial empreendedor e idade do dirigente, entre liderança criativa e idade do dirigente, uma significativa associação negativa entre potencial empreendedor e porte da empresa e inexistência de associação significativa entre liderança criativa e porte da empresa.
