Resumo: The Brazil has a large biodiversity which has a vast fauna. Such wealth is attractive to animal trafficking, which is the third more frequent illicit activity in the world. This study had as objective to perform an epidemiological survey of the seizure of wildlife by Environmental Police Battalion of the state of Paraná from January 2016 to September 2019. The data were collected through the SISGCOP system (Sistema de Gerenciamento e Controle Administrativo e Operacional) of the environmental police and were analyzed the number of crimes, number of animals seized, animal class (birds, mammals, reptiles and amphibians), state of health (alive, injured and dead) of each animal at the time of seizure and the cities with the highest record of occurrences. After data analysis it was observed that birds were the most seized animal class and it was observed 3,84% of all animals were dead. The cities with the more seizures were Londrina, Curitiba, Francisco Beltrão, Foz do Iguaçu and São José dos Pinhais. The results confirmed that birds are the most preferred class for animal trafficking, being countless causes that can lead animals to death. The seizures of wildlife in the cities were high number influenced by airports, borders, fairs and police units are factors that increase trafficking. These results indicate it needs a more effective surveillance and fight against animal trafficking.

Universidade PositivoBrasilMedicina VeterináriaUPBrandão, Yara de Oliveirahttp://lattes.cnpq.br/0673872301306279Nakamura, Gabriel Kioshi CavalariTorres, Stephanie Loest2022-03-23T18:50:00Z20222022-03-23T18:50:00Z2020info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersioninfo:eu-repo/semantics/bachelorThesisapplication/pdfhttps://repositorio.cruzeirodosul.edu.br/handle/123456789/3283porinfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessreponame:Repositório do Centro Universitário Braz Cubasinstname:Centro Universitário Braz Cubas (CUB)instacron:CUB2022-03-23T18:51:06Zoai:repositorio.cruzeirodosul.edu.br:123456789/3283Repositório InstitucionalPUBhttps://repositorio.brazcubas.edu.br/oai/requestbibli@brazcubas.edu.bropendoar:2022-03-23T18:51:06Repositório do Centro Universitário Braz Cubas - Centro Universitário Braz Cubas (CUB)false
