Resumo: Over this course conclusion work, we shall approach in a theoretical way and discourse about the architectural style so called “Stripped Classicism”, a predominant style in North America, adopted by public institutions under Roosevelt administration, also know as PWA Moderne, Modern Classical, Federal Moderne and or Depression Moderne, the style marked the history of the country in the 20th century, which underwent a series of public policy transformations, from the great depression to the postwar American rise, the architectural style would become a landmark of an era presided over by developmentalism provided by public administration projects and government reforms. The style would reach its hight during the implementation of the “New Deal” elaborated by then President Franklin Delano Roosevelt with the purpose of reforming and recovering the economy from the crisis of 1929 with a series of projects and programs implemented in the economy, public administration, massive investments in public infrastructure works, price and production controls, reduced working hours, labor reforms and several other segments. The architectural style would be adopted as a model federal style by the PWA Public Works Administration, a mega public construction agency created by the National Industrial Recovery Act enacted in June 1933 in response to the great depression in conjunction with policies made by the New Deal. PWA would plan projects and execute them in conjunction with the private sector that used labor from the open market, creating a progressive system of economic and institutional recovery all over the country, financing and managing more than 34 thousand projects, from airports, ships , more than 7,000 schools, hospitals, public buildings, more than 11,000 main roads, rail and other projects.
