This article elaborates on the conflict between trademarks and domain registration on the Internet, and proposes the following question: How do the original causes apply and subsidize the resolution of conflicts between trademarks and domain names, considering the law, existing jurisprudence and alternative dispute resolution mechanisms? For this research, methods based on descriptive research in books, scientific articles, legislation and jurisprudence; bibliographical qualitative-evaluative approach; and documental strategy for laws and judicial opinions were used. Through the results, it is concluded that the proposed study led to the observation that conflicts between domain names and trademarks originate the practice called 'cybersquatting', which designates the kidnapping of a trademark or business name, and/or personality , for the purpose of selling this internet address to its legitimate owners, or to third parties; or even, the practice of 'typosquatting', which consists of the intentional exchange of a letter of a trademark and/or personality with the objective of diversion virtual world clientele, or also, unintentionally through the registration of a name with available domain that conflicts with a trademark, business name and/or personality name.
