Resumo: | The curricular internship in veterinary medicine is considered a pedagogical practice that provides the student with professional skills and allows the execution of the knowledge acquired during graduation. It took place from August 9th to October 30th, 2021, at the Renata Saccaro Veterinary Hospital, located in the city of Caxias do Sul. It aimed to improve knowledge in the areas of small animal clinic and surgery through clinical consultations, general surgeries, and monitoring of hospitalized patients. The activities developed there aim at the prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and cure of the diseases that affect the dogs and cats treated. During the internship period, the developed activities consisted of clinical, specialist, and preventive consultations, general surgeries, monitoring of hospitalized patients, collection of material for exams, imaging exams, such as radiography and ultrasound, as well as visits and discharge of hospitalized patients. In this report the activities developed during the internship are described, followed by the discussion of three cases chosen among the ones followed: Urethral prolapse in a Pitbull dog, Stabilization of Rupture of the Cranial Cruciate Ligament with the TPLO technique in an English Bulldog dog and Intoxication by Tibouchina mutabilis (Manacá-da-serra) in a dog. |

O mesmo foi realizado no período de 09 de agosto a 30 de outubro de 2021 no Hospital Veterinário Renata Saccaro, localizado na cidade de Caxias do Sul. Teve como objetivo aprimorar os conhecimentos nas áreas de clínica e cirurgia de pequenos animais através do acompanhamento de consultas clínicas, cirurgias gerais e monitoramento de pacientes internados. As atividades desenvolvidas no local visam à prevenção, diagnóstico, tratamento e cura das enfermidades que acometem os cães e gatos atendidos. Durante o período de estágio as atividades desenvolvidas consistiram no acompanhamento de consultas clínicas, especialistas e preventivas, cirurgias gerais, monitoramento dos pacientes internados, coleta de material para exames, realização de exames de imagem, como radiografia e ultrassom, além de visitas e altas dos pacientes internados.
