Adolescence is a period in which physical, psychical and social alterations happen quickly. During these changes the young person becomes susceptible, and often, cannot face moments of crisis, mainly during a pregnancy. The aim of this research was the analysis and comprehension of the perception of pregnancy during the youth by a group of young women from Paracatu – MG. It was tried to know the expectative, fears and doubts about this reality. A qualitative study was done in a Family Health Strategy (ESF) with seven pregnant young women with 20 years old incomplete at May 2009 The work comprehended of an initial interview and an ultimate interview after four meetings in which were discussed correlated subjects about pregnancy and feelings generated by its discovery. In the initial interview all of them said to have used some contraceptive method, but during the meetings the opposite was verified. They mentioned they did not worry about pregnancy possibilities and sexually transmissible disease before pregnancy discover. All of them said to have accepted the pregnancy, although five of them recognized that if they have more orientation they would not became pregnant in that moment. Speech and written testimonials of the pregnant young women where gathered in categories: a) felling originated by the pregnancy; b) myths, taboos and beliefs and c) future perspectives. It was inferred, by obtained informations, that pregnancy during adolescence for many times is not undesirable by them, and all the orientation related to the sexuality of this period must be worked by a multiprofessional health care team. It is relevant to elaborate strategies aiming the comprehension of sexual aspects during adolescence and their consequences by young women, like the relationship with their partners, STD/AIDS and pregnancy, teaching them how to deal with the vulnerability of their age, using as resources the meetings that give back their leadership. Another consequence of the meetings is the overture of possibilities to health professional, empowering them for a humanizing service without preconceptions
