Resumo: | Cystic endometrial hyperplasia (HEC) is a pathological condition resulting from high levels of progesterone that induce the proliferation of secretory glands and thickening of the endometrium due to the increase in the number and size of the endometrial glands, reduction of uterine contractility and consequently accumulation of intrauterine content. When associated with uterine infection it is called pyometra, being a reproductive disease of high incidence in the veterinary medical routine. HEC - pyometra has a high variability of clinical manifestations, which are related to several factors, including age, microorganisms involved, time of disease evolution, instituted therapy and the patient's immune response. In the present study, a survey was carried out of 55 cases of bitches diagnosed with HEC - pyometra, seen at the Veterinary Hospital Vet Plus - Joinville/SC, being considered the age and race of the patients, as well as the result of abdominal ultrasound and laboratory exams. The most prevalent hematological changes in the study are related to the uterine and systemic inflammatory process, including normochromic normocytic anemia and neutrophilia leukocytosis. Changes in biochemical tests were found in a small number of animals. In the abdominal ultrasound exam, a high incidence of thickening of the uterine wall, proliferative changes, presence of hypoechogenic intraluminal content and organ distension were observed. The more in-depth knowledge about the factors that influence the clinical manifestation of the disease provides more basis for therapeutic decisions. |

Universidade PositivoBrasilMedicina VeterináriaUPRodigheri, Sabrina Marinhttp://lattes.cnpq.br/6240818791507596Souza, Rafaela Corina MenezesCoelho, Viviani2022-03-24T18:13:44Z20222022-03-24T18:13:44Z2021info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersioninfo:eu-repo/semantics/bachelorThesisapplication/pdfhttps://repositorio.cruzeirodosul.edu.br/handle/123456789/3319porinfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessreponame:Repositório do Centro Universitário Braz Cubasinstname:Centro Universitário Braz Cubas (CUB)instacron:CUB2022-03-24T18:14:40Zoai:repositorio.cruzeirodosul.edu.br:123456789/3319Repositório InstitucionalPUBhttps://repositorio.brazcubas.edu.br/oai/requestbibli@brazcubas.edu.bropendoar:2022-03-24T18:14:40Repositório do Centro Universitário Braz Cubas - Centro Universitário Braz Cubas (CUB)false |
