The role of the information professional in combating and confronting disinformation: from a perspective for archivists and librarians

Resumo: This research has as themes post-truth, disinformation, fake news, and the professionals in the labor market, in the context of a (dis)information society. The research aims to identify the role of the information professional to face and combat misinformation, presenting the competencies for Archivists and Librarians. Regarding methodology, we opted for a bibliographic, exploratory, and documental research with a qualitative approach, using a bibliographic survey. We used the Database of Periodicals in Information Science (BRAPCI) and Web of Science (WoS) to retrieve scientific articles until 2021 that contain in highlight the role of the librarian or archivists to face misinformation. Twenty-two scientific articles were found that met the research objective. The role of the information, communication and legal professional in the face of the rapid and easy proliferation of fake news and that has allowed to make uninformed users is presented. Archivists and librarians have sought education to act in this scenario. The labor market has also changed, in contemporary society the professional needs to acquire new skills and abilities to face the problems of a world in constant transformation and learning how to learn and solve dilemmas is a skill and role of the archivist and librarian of the 21st century.

La investigación pretende identificar el papel del profesional de la información para afrontar y combatir la desinformación, presentando las competencias para los archiveros y bibliotecarios. En cuanto a la metodología, se optó por una investigación bibliográfica, exploratoria y documental con un enfoque cualitativo, utilizando la encuesta bibliográfica. Se utilizó la Base de Datos de Publicaciones Periódicas en Ciencias de la Información (BRAPCI) y la Web Of Science (WoS) para recuperar artículos científicos hasta el año 2021 que contengan en resaltar el papel del bibliotecario o de los archiveros para hacer frente a la desinformación. Se encontraron 22 artículos científicos que cumplían el objetivo de la investigación.  Se presenta el papel del profesional de la información, la comunicación y el derecho ante la gran proliferación rápida y fácil de las fake news y que ha permitido desinformar a los usuarios. Los archiveros y bibliotecarios han buscado educación para actuar en este escenario. El mercado laboral también ha cambiado, en la sociedad contemporánea el profesional necesita adquirir nuevas habilidades y destrezas para enfrentarse a los problemas de un mundo en constante transformación y aprender a aprender y resolver dilemas es una habilidad y un papel del archivero y bibliotecario del siglo XXI.Esta pesquisa tem como temas pós-verdade, desinformação, fake news e os profissionais no mercado de trabalho, no contexto de uma sociedade da (des)informação. A pesquisa possui como objetivo identificar o papel do profissional da informação para enfrentar e combater a desinformação, apresentando as competências para os Arquivistas e Bibliotecários. Em relação a metodologia, optou-se por uma pesquisa bibliográfica, exploratória e documental com uma abordagem qualitativa, utilizando o levantamento bibliográfico. Usou-se a Base de Dados de Periódicos em Ciência da Informação (BRAPCI) e Web Of Science (WoS) para recuperar artigos científicos até 2021 que contém em destaque o papel do bibliotecário ou arquivistas para enfrentar a desinformação. Foram encontrados 22 artigos científicos que atendiam o objetivo da pesquisa.  Apresenta-se o papel do profissional da informação, comunicação e do direito diante da grande proliferação rápida e fácil de fake news e que tem permitido tornar usuários desinformados. Arquivistas e bibliotecários têm buscado a educação para atuar nesse cenário.
