Convergences and divergences in the teaching of information management and knowledge management in the context of librarianship and information science courses within Mercosur

The present study analyzed selected courses of Librarianship and Information Science within the scope of Mercosur, seeking to identify convergences and divergences in disciplines of Information Management and Knowledge Management. The following objectives were established: to map the priority and recurrent themes in the disciplines focused on Information Management and Knowledge Management; in the courses of Librarianship and Information Science in the context of Mercosur; and promote the exchange and sharing of data, information, and expertise among the professors of the researched universe. To this end, data collection was carried out directly from the contributions of the Working Group of the thematic axis 'Information Management' constituted at the Meeting of Directors and Professors of Librarianship and Information Science of Mercosur 2023. The collected data were analyzed using the Content Analysis method. As a result, it was possible to perceive that the disciplines offered in the area of Information Management in the courses of Librarianship and Information Science of the universe researched find significant convergences with regard to the themes addressed, however, the percentages of workload of the courses dedicated to the area do not reach the desired standards, declared and agreed by the group of professors of the area within Mercosur.
