Resumo: O texto apresenta reflexões sobre a educação católica como formação da pessoa humana. Com base em fundamentos de documentos publicados pelo Papa Francisco sobre o significado de educar na contemporaneidade, propõe uma educação aberta à transformação sociocultural que prepare os cidadãos para saber como compreender os processos sociais, desenvolvendo atitudes de escuta, confrontação, serviço e desenvolvimento social na  perspectiva de uma formação que contemple a cultura do diálogo e do encontro.Palavras-chave: Educação Católica.
