Resumo: | A digestion trial was conducted with sheep to determine the nutritive value of Siratro (Phaseolus atropurpureus) hay, at different vegetation stages. The total collection technique was used. The following variations in the crude fractions were observed: dry matter: 81.42-90.36%; protein: 13.82-17,97%; ether extract: 1.88-3.01%; fiber: 33.16-40,69%; minerals: 7,14-15.78% and nitrogen free extract: 22.53-39.5% .Average crude protein content was higher than for other tropical legumes. The observed digestibility coefficients were as follows: dry matter, 41.95-70,55%; protein, 67.18-81.1%; ether extract, 31.90-75.28%; fiber, 31.23-65.94% and nitrogen free extract, 48.61-78.45%. Digestibility coefficients for crude protein and crude fiber and digestible protein on dry matter basis were higher in hays from plants at more advanced stage of vegetative growth. Significant differences (p<0,05) were detected in TDN among different stages. The variation observed was 44.44-69.99%. The highest intake of TDN by the animals was associated with hays cut at the more advanced vegetative stages. |

Nutritive values of hay from siratro (Phaseolus atropurpureus) cut at different stages of developmentValores nutritivos do feno de siratro (Phaseolus atropurpureus) em diferentes estádios de crescimentoA digestion trial was conducted with sheep to determine the nutritive value of Siratro (Phaseolus atropurpureus) hay, at different vegetation stages. Pesquisa Agropecuaria BrasileiraPesquisa Agropecuária BrasileiraLima, Carlos RodriguesSouto, Sebastião ManhãesGarcia, José Maurício ReisAraújo, Maria Ribeiro2014-04-15info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://seer.sct.embrapa.br/index.php/pab/article/view/17425Pesquisa Agropecuaria Brasileira; v.7, n.1, 1972: Série Zootecnia; 63-66Pesquisa Agropecuária Brasileira; v.7, n.1, 1972: Série Zootecnia; 63-661678-39210100-104xreponame:Pesquisa Agropecuária Brasileira (Online)instname:Empresa Brasileira de Pesquisa Agropecuária (Embrapa)instacron:EMBRAPAporhttps://seer.sct.embrapa.br/index.php/pab/article/view/17425/11688info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccess2014-04-15T18:39:21Zoai:ojs.seer.sct.embrapa.br:article/17425Revistahttp://seer.sct.embrapa.br/index.php/pabPRIhttps://old.scielo.br/oai/scielo-oai.phppab@sct.embrapa.br || sct.pab@embrapa.br1678-39210100-204Xopendoar:2014-04-15T18:39:21Pesquisa Agropecuária Brasileira (Online) - Empresa Brasileira de Pesquisa Agropecuária (Embrapa)false |
