Resumo: | Body weight (BW), feed intake (FI), feed efficiency (FE = FI/BW gain) and fat deposition (FD) were evaluated in broilers receiving five energy levels (3,200; 3,100; 3,000; 2,900 and 2,800 kcal metabolism energy/kg of feed) and 23% CP from 0-28 days and 19% CP from 29-49 days of age in the diet. Bird were submitted to four feeding interval of 30 minutes each (1:30, 3:00 and 4:30 hours between meals) and to a control treatment with ad libitum feeding. Statistically significant effects (P<0.05) were observed for energy levei and feeding interval. The interaction energy leveIs x feeding interval was statistically significant (P<0.05) for F1 and FE from to O to 28 days of age and for FI from O to 49 days of age. As feeding interval increased, FI and BW decreased and FE improved. Birds fed ad libitum presented the heaviest BW, FD and carcass weight |

Foram utilizadas rações com cinco níveis de energia (3.200, 3.100, 3.000, 2.900 e 2.800 kcal energia metabolizável/kg) com 23% de proteína bruta na fase 1-28 dias e mesmos níveis de energia; com 19% de proteína bruta na fase 29-49 dias e 20 minutos de alimentação a cada 1:30, 3:00,4:30 horas de intervalo e uma testemunha "a vontade".
