Resumo: | The aim of this study was to evaluate the production of cedar seedlings according to the size of containers and nutrient sources. It was tested three types of containers (Root trainers, plastic bag and plastic vase), three sources of fertilization (Conventional, Kimcoat® and Osmocote®) in seven evaluations. The cedar seedlings in root trainers, fertilized with source Osmocote® presented the greatest increments in height and stem diameter when compared to another sources of fertilization. The plastic bag and plastic vase containers promoted similar seedlings height growth. However the seedlings grown in plastic vase presented greatest growth in stem diameter when compared with the ones in plastic bag. |

However the seedlings grown in plastic vase presented greatest growth in stem diameter when compared with the ones in plastic bag.A fonte de fertilizante e o tipo de recipiente utilizado na produção de mudas em um viveiro estão diretamente relacionados com o custo e a qualidade das mudas. Neste sentido, o objetivo deste estudo foi avaliar a produção de mudas de cedro em função do tamanho de recipientes e fontes de adubação. O delineamento experimental utilizado foi o de blocos inteiramente casualizados, em um esquema fatorial 3 x 3 x 7, com 3 repetições. Os tratamentos consistiram em três tipos de recipiente (Tubete, saco plástico e bombona), três fontes de adubação (Convencional, Kimcoat® e Osmocote®) e sete épocas de avaliação. Foi avaliado a altura, diâmetro de colo, relação altura/diâmetro de colo e índice de clorofila das folhas das mudas. A partir dos resultados pode-se concluir que as mudas de cedro-rosa adubadas com Osmocote® apresentam os maiores índices de crescimento, já as produzidas com o fertilizante Kimcoat® não diferem das produzidas com o fertilizante convencional.
