Resumo: | Microsporogenesis is the reproductive stage most affected by the occurrence of low temperatures. This study aimed to evaluate the effects of low temperatures during the reproductive stage in inbreed rice lines from Epagri. The experiment was carried out at the Itajai Experiment Station of Epagri (Santa Catarina State Agricultural Research and Rural Extension Agency); the genotypes evaluated were the SC 491, SC 756 (inbreed lines) and the cultivar SCS116 Satoru. The same genotypes were grown under 25° to 28°C, as controls treatment. The rice plants were kept on temperatures of 14°C in a growth chamber with a photoperiod of 13 hours light / 11 dark hours at different stages: i) microsporogenesis; ii) anthesis; and iii) at microsporogenesisand anthesis. Plants were evaluated for grain weight; sterility and grain weight. The genotypes tested showed different degrees of tolerance to low temperatures during reproductive stages. The inbreed lines SC 491 and SC 756 have potential for use in the breeding program as a source of resistance to low temperatures. |
