Resumo: | The aim of this study was to estimate the leaf area of the garlic, based on leaf dimensions and leafdry mass. The leaf shape factor (f) and the dry mass factor (fb) were determined for cultivars Contestado 12, Caçador 40, Chonan Takashi, Jonas, Quitéria, Roxo Caxiense and Fuego Inta through the analysis of linear regression crossing the origin, through the leaf blade dimensions and leaf blade dry mass, respectively. The leaf blade dimension equations allowed lower estimate errors in relation to the leaf blade dry mass equations for all cultivars. The leaf area of all garlic cultivars can be estimated by a unique f equal to 0,59. It was determined anfb equal to 150,86 for the group of cultivars Caçador 40, Jonas and Quitéria; 136,95 for the group of cultivars Contestado 12, Chonan Takashi and Roxo Caxiense; and 123,97 for the cultivar Fuego Inta. |

O objetivo deste trabalho foi estimar a área foliar do alho através das dimensões e da biomassa seca do limbo foliar. Foram determinados para as cultivares Contestado 12, Caçador 40, Chonan Takashi, Jonas,Quitéria, Roxo Caxiense e Fuego Inta o fator de forma (f) e o fator de biomassa (fb), através da análise de regressão linear passando pela origem. As equações obtidas a partir das dimensões foliares permitiram estimativas com menores erros em relação às equações obtidas a partir da biomassa do limbo foliar, para todas as cultivares. A área foliar das cultivares de alho podem ser estimadas por um f único igual a 0,59. Foi determinado o fb de 150,86 para o grupo de cultivares Caçador 40, Jonas e Quitéria; de 136,95 para o grupo de cultivares Contestado 12, Chonan Takashi e Roxo Caxiense; e de 123,97 para a cultivar Fuego Inta.
