Resumo: | Abstract -Industrialization of cassava (Manihot esculenta Crantz) generates a coproduct called dry residue of cassava (DRC) that can be an alternative energy for broiler feed. DRC has a high content of starch, fibers and low levels of lipids, proteins and mineral mater. However, when it is used for poultry feed formulation is necessary to consider the bromatological composition as well as the presence of antinutritional factors in its composition. Some components found in the DRC such as soluble and insoluble fibers, non-starch polysaccharides and cyanogenic compounds are said to be responsible for negatively affectng animal performance. In this context, carbohydrase enzymes have been used for the purpose of providing more nutrients in the feed, in an attempt to improve or maintain the performance of the animals and thus their profitability. Xylanase, β-glucanase and α-amylase are some of the exogenous enzymes used in diets containing DRC to minimize their indigestible compounds. |
