Resumo: | In order to determine the best management of black oat in the black bean crop, a randomized block experiment with 4 replicates was conducted, in a factorial scheme, consisting of 3 levels of the oat desiccation time factor (30, 15 and 0days before of the sowing-DBS) and 3 levels of the straw management factor (transverse, longitudinal and non-rolling). The percentage of soil cover by oats was higher when transverse rolling and no rolling. The lowest number of weeds per unit areaat 30 days afer sowing (DAS) was obtained with desiccaton on the 0 DBS. The absence of rolled oats provided a lower fresh and dry mass of weeds at 30 DAS and at harvest, with bean yield reflectons, which was superior to the use of transverse andlongitudinal rolls. Thus, it can be inferred that desiccaton can be carried out on the same day as the black bean sowing, cv. IPR-Graúna, without damage to grain yield, as well as, the cost of rolling the predecessor crop, in the case of black oats, isunnecessary |

IPR-Graúna, without damage to grain yield, as well as, the cost of rolling the predecessor crop, in the case of black oats, isunnecessary Com o objetivo de determinar o melhor manejo da aveia-preta na cultura do feijão-preto, conduziu-se um experimento em blocos casualizados com 4 repetições, em esquema fatorial, com 3 níveis do fator época de dessecação da aveia (30, 15 e 0 dias antes da semeadura-DAS) e 3 níveis do fator manejo da palhada (rolagem transversal, longitudinale sem rolagem). A porcentagem de cobertura do solo pela aveia foi maior quando da rolagem transversal e na ausência de rolagem. O menor número de plantas daninhas por unidade de área aos 30 dias depois da semeadura (DDS) foi obtido com a dessecação no dia da semeadura. A ausência de rolagem da aveia proporcionou menor massa fresca e seca de plantas daninhas aos 30 DDS e na colheita, com reflexos na produtividade do feijão, tendo sido superior à utilização das rolagens transversal e longitudinal. Assim, pode-se inferir que a dessecação poder ser realizada no mesmo dia da semeadura do feijão, cv.
