Resumo: Abstract- The rainfall erosivity factor can be estimated by the analysis of long series of pluviograph data or, alternatively, by the use of pluviometric methods. The objective of this work was to adjust the equations for the estimation of erosivity by the pluviometric method and to determine the temporal distribution pattern of the rainfall of Porto Union, as well as to determine the erosivity factor for the Northern Plateau Region of Santa Catarina. The Porto Union pluviograms of the period from 1973 to 1992 were analyzed, determining erosivity by the index EI30 and adjusting the equations to estimate this index by the pluviometric method. Based on the rainfall averages from 1984 to 2015 of ten stations located in the Northern Plateau of Santa Catarina, the erosivity factor (R) was estimated for the region. The most frequent erosive rains are of the Advanced pattern (54.5%), followed by Intermediate (32.3%) and Late (13.2%), respectively. The mean annual erosivity in the North Plateau ranged from 5,885 to 6,822 MJ mm ha-1 h-1 year-1, being classified as High erosivity.
