Resumo: Objective: The aim of this study was to identify the most prevalent risk factors related to the risk of developing Obstructive Sleep Apnea Syndrome based on the STOP BANG questionnaire evaluated in preoperative patients at a hospital in the Federal District. Methodology: Research carried out using data collected from patient consultations carried out in a multiprofessional pre-anesthetic clinic through electronic medical records. Results: 574 individuals studied, 307 (30.7) were at high risk for OSAHS and 326 (32.6) patients were at intermediate risk for developing the syndrome. The Body Mass Index (BMI) 35 is positive in 32.2% of the sample and Cervical Circumference in 22.2% of the individuals. There was a predominance of risk in women with 59.2%. 73.1% of the studied sample scored positively for the presence of the pathology, while 26.9% reported not having SAH. Conclusion: the research highlights the risk of OSAHS in most patients, a risk that is often not perceived and identified by health professionals, thus requiring greater dissemination and knowledge of the OSAHS approach, especially in pre-anesthetic patients.
