Effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on health professionals in an operating room

Resumo: Objective: To evaluate the impact of COVID-19 on health professionals, verifying the main consequences caused by the pandemic in these individuals. Method:This is a cross-sectional, descriptive study with a quantitative approach carried out in a public hospital in the Federal District.Results: It was found that the majority of participants were female, between 20 and 39 years old, out of risk groups for COVID-19, 59 (77.6%) reported that they considered their knowledge insufficient on the subject, however, 58 (76.3%) affirm that they are updating themselves, 49 (64.5%) affirm dissatisfaction with the institutional support, 58 (76.3%) refer negative feelings regarding the COVID-19 theme. Conclusion: For most professionals the support offered by the institution is inadequate. There was a good adherence to basic measures to contain the spread of the disease among professionals, but the majority reported having negative feelings regarding the theme COVID-19.

Método:Trata-se de um estudo transversal, descritivo com abordagem quantitativo realizado em um Hospital público do Distrito Federal. Resultados: Constatou-se que majoritariamente que os participantes eram do sexo feminino, entre 20 e 39 anos, fora de grupos de riscos para COVID-19, 59(77,6%) relataram considerar seu conhecimento insuficiente sobre o tema, porém, 58(76,3%) afirmam estar se atualizando, 49(64,5%) afirmam insatisfação com o apoio institucional, 58(76,3%) referem sentimentos negativos em relação ao tema COVID-19.Conclusão: Para a maior parte dos profissionais o apoio ofertado pela instituição é inadequado.
