Resumo: The article aims to check which dynamic capabilities developed and used by the multinational has contributed to the internationalization process of the subsidiary in Brazil. The research methodology had a qualitative approach, and used the case study for data collection, with the application of in-depth semi-structured interviews. The results show that, according to the economic theory, the company took property advantages, from the development of locals and non-locals competencies. The location advantage was explored from the choice of the host country, taking into consideration the potential market. Regarding the behavioral theory, it was identified that the internalization occurred gradually, started with exportation, and currently it is characterized as greenfield. Concerning the dynamic capabilities, they were developed by the company at the moment the company knew how to reconfigure and adapt the competencies developed in each unit, using them in its internalization process.

A metodologia de pesquisa foi de abordagem qualitativa, utilizando o estudo de caso para a coleta de dados, com a aplicação de entrevistas semiestruturadas em profundidade. Os resultados apontam que, de acordo com a teoria econômica, a empresa aproveitou as vantagens de propriedade, a partir do desenvolvimento de competências locais e não locais. A vantagem de localização foi explorada a partir da escolha do país hospedeiro, levando em consideração o mercado potencial. Em relação à teoria comportamental, identificou-se que a internacionalização ocorreu de forma gradual, iniciando com exportação e, atualmente, caracteriza-se como greenfield.
