Resumo: This article reports on the role of nurses in assisting postpartum women in cases of postpartum depression. The objective of this study is to analyze the work performed by nurses in the care of puerperal women with postpartum depression. This is an integrative literature review, with a qualitative approach, 12 works were used, 10 from SCIELO and 2 from GOOGLE ACADEMICO between the period from February to June 2022. The article addressed the risk factors that most lead to the development of PPD (postpartum depression) and the importance of nursing in health prevention and promotion. It was evident that the risk factors that most affect PPD are unfavorable socioeconomic issues, low education, complications in previous pregnancies and lack of family support. It is evident that the role of nursing is essential during the gestational period and in the postpartum period, providing care, psychological support, self-care guidelines and baby care. Thus, the importance of the guiding nurse is the theoretical-scientific knowledge of the PPD, for women, with a multiprofessional team to better welcome and care for them during pregnancy and the postpartum period. In all studies, it was clear that the role of nursing from the beginning of pregnancy is to alleviate PPD in the puerperium, improving the quality of life at this stage.

Sustenere Publishing2023-01-04info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://sustenere.inf.br/index.php/sciresalutis/article/view/738310.6008/CBPC2236-9600.2022.003.0009Scire Salutis; Vol. 12 No. 3 (2022): Scire Salutis - Mai, Jun, Jul 2022; 69-75Scire Salutis; Vol. 12 Núm. 3 (2022): Scire Salutis - Mai, Jun, Jul 2022; 69-75Scire Salutis; v. 12 n. 3 (2022): Scire Salutis - Mai, Jun, Jul 2022; 69-752236-9600reponame:Scire Salutisinstname:Companhia Brasileira de Produção Científica (CBPC)instacron:ESSporenghttps://sustenere.inf.br/index.php/sciresalutis/article/view/7383/4241https://sustenere.inf.br/index.php/sciresalutis/article/view/7383/4240Copyright (c) 2023 Scire Salutishttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessSousa, Maria Clara Pereira de Cardoso, Michely CruzAlves , Larissa Luz 2023-08-03T13:33:12Zoai:ojs.pkp.sfu.ca:article/7383Revistahttps://sustenere.co/index.php/sciresalutisONGhttps://sustenere.co/index.php/sciresalutis/oai||carlos@arvore.org.br2236-96002236-9600opendoar:2023-08-03T13:33:12Scire Salutis - Companhia Brasileira de Produção Científica (CBPC)false
