Resumo: The organ donation process in Brazil and in the main countries affected by the pandemic suffered a drop in the number of donations and transplants due to the rapid dissemination of COVID-19. In the face of the pandemic, changes in the protocols of this process were necessary, making the measures more rigorous. This study aims to identify and describe the changes that occurred in the organ donation and transplantation process due to the impact of the pandemic caused by COVID-19. This is a scope review where the articles were selected from the Latin American and Caribbean Health Sciences (LILACS), PUBMED and Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO) databases. As a result in most of the selected productions, the decline in the number of organ donations, causing a change in the care of these donors and recipients, with the greatest evidence found being the testing for detection of COVID-19. In addition, the recommendation to collect nasopharyngeal aspiration, nasal, oral swab, respiratory secretion and chest tomography was performed to obtain more evidence. Thus, it is concluded that the validation of the potential donor (living or deceased) and the recipient has become more careful to avoid complications caused by the infection of COVID-19.
