The importance of physiotherapy in the follow-up of bariatric patients: an integrative review

Resumo: Obesity is a disease that causes imbalance in the functioning of the human body, and one of the methods of intervention is bariatric surgery and during this process, physiotherapy is essential to strengthen the respiratory system, among other benefits to the bariatric patient. In this sense, the objective of this work is to discuss the physiotherapeutic intervention in cases of pre and post bariatric surgery patients. In this regard, this is research that analyses the results of 10 articles selected through the integrative literature review methodology, with the application of the qualitative research method, which resulted in 33 articles, where 23 were excluded based on pre-defined criteria. -determined. 10 articles were analysed demonstrating that the physiotherapeutic intervention is essential for respiratory muscle training because it directly helps in satisfactory results in the patients' condition. Thus, considering the effect of physiotherapeutic intervention with a focus on muscle training, directly impacting the lung function of bariatric patients is high. Thus, the presence of this professional in the follow-up of this type of surgical intervention is essential.

Nesse sentido, o objetivo deste trabalho é discutir a intervenção fisioterapêutica nos casos de pacientes pré e pós operados de cirurgia bariátrica.  Neste aspecto, trata-se de uma pesquisa que analisa os resultados de 10 artigos selecionados através da metodologia de revisão integrativa da literatura, com a aplicação do método qualitativo de pesquisa, que resultou em 33 artigos, onde foram excluídos 23 com base nos critérios pré-determinados. 10 artigos foram analisados demonstrando que a intervenção fisioterapêutica é fundamental para treinamento muscular respiratório pois, auxilia diretamente em resultados satisfatórios no quadro dos pacientes. Desta forma, levando em consideração o efeito da intervenção fisioterapêutica com foco do treinamento muscular, impactando diretamente a função pulmonar dos pacientes bariátricos é alto.
