Resumo: "African Christians Encounters" emerged with the purpose of integrating black people through Christian pleasurable affective awareness to the socio-cultural references and to the deconstructive ideas of African racist and prejudiced, sanctified and naturalized around the ethnic / racial African-descendent in society and particularly in Christian churches. In this way, issues of great importance for study and reflection were prioritized. The intent of generating "African Christians Encounters" were to strengthen the identity and ethnic-racial self-esteem of black people included in the Christian churches, given that the religious culture of Christianity in Europe purged and dominated cultures and histories of subjugated peoples, i this case, of the descendants of Africans, identified per various terms, including: black, mestizo, African-brown, "brown", causing a diversity and a move away from a racial or ethnic identification.

Faculdades ESTda Silva Branchini, DináCorrêa Gonçalves Kronbauer, Selenir2011-08-22info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttp://periodicos.est.edu.br/index.php/identidade/article/view/165identidade!; v. 16, n. 1 (2011): Dossiê: Juventudes Negras; 94-1042178-437Xreponame:Identidade!instname:Faculdades ESTinstacron:ESTporhttp://periodicos.est.edu.br/index.php/identidade/article/view/165/183info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccess2011-09-02T02:03:30Zoai:www.est.edu.br/periodicos:article/165Revistahttp://periodicos.est.edu.br/index.php/identidade/indexONGhttp://periodicos.est.edu.br/index.php/identidade/oai||selenir@est.edu.br|| reblin@est.edu.br2178-437X1676-9570opendoar:2011-09-02T02:03:30Identidade! - Faculdades ESTfalse
