Resumo: Theology is Hermeneutics and it is built upon dialogue with culture, crystallized in arts. The dialogue occurs in the context in which the religious elements of the character Riobaldo's language gain density, empower to daily life where certainties are affronted, limits are tested and weaknesses increases. Dialogue catalyzes the knowledge consolidated throughout ages, melded into cultures and expressed in masks of Sacred left in time. And literature gives us back in prose. We distinguish between institutional and public theology, we see its proposal and discuss its role.

O diálogo se dá no contexto em que os elementos religiosos da linguagem do personagem Riobaldo ganham densidade, o empoderam para o cotidiano que afronta certezas, testa limites e aumenta fraquezas. Diálogo catalisa os saberes consolidados em séculos, amalgamados em culturas e expressos nas máscaras do Sagrado deixadas no tempo. E a literatura nos devolve em prosa.
