A partir de pesquisa bibliográfica, o objetivo é compreender a alfabetização e a aprendizagem a partir da leitura do mundo, da realidade do cotidiano e da experiência das pessoas. Busca-se o aporte teórico em Paulo Freire e Jorge Larrosa e suas estratégias pedagógicas de ensino. Destacam-se os conceitos utilizados no processo de alfabetização por Paulo Freire, cujo objetivo era a libertação dos oprimidos e a compreensão da leitura como experiência em Jorge Larrosa a partir dos binômios conceituais ciência/técnica, teoria/prática, experiência/sentido. Desta forma, entrelaçam-se as teorias dos educadores Paulo Freire e Jorge Larrosa acerca da leitura. Freire defende um processo educativo pautado conciliando teoria e prática, cuja aprendizagem ocorre a partir de temas do cotidiano do educando e da educanda, ou seja, da sua experiência, experiência esta destacada por Larrosa. Com isso, compreende-se que o ato da leitura a partir da realidade do cotidiano e da experiência do educando e da educanda desperta o sentimento de pertencimento a uma sociedade, que até então excluía, mas que agora faz do educando e da educanda partícipes cônscios dos seus direitos como cidadão e cidadã uma vez que o processo de escrita/leitura tem a capacidade de atribuir novas perspectivas ao que antes era obscuro e descontextualizado.The theme of this paper is the reading (of the world) which occupies an important place in the teaching of the Portuguese language, and which is conjugated with experience, indicating the importance of the relation between the subjects and their daily life. Based on bibliographic research, the goal is to understand literacy training and learning based on the reading of the world, of reality and of the daily life and experience of the people. The theoretical support in Paulo Freire and Jorge Larrosa and their pedagogical strategies of teaching is sought. The concepts used in the literacy training process of Paulo Freire, whose goal was the liberation of the oppressed and the understanding of reading as experience in Jorge Larrosa based on the conceptual binomials science/technology, theory/practice, experience/meaning are highlighted. In this way, the theories of Paulo Freire and Jorge Larrosa about reading intertwine. Freire defends an educational process guided by conciliation of theory and practice, where the learning occurs based on themes of the daily life of the learner, that is, the learner’s experience, which is highlighted by Larrosa.
