O seu objetivo geral foi o de perceber como as questões de gênero e sexualidade estão ou não presentes na formação docente diante de debates contemporâneos sobre essas questões. Buscou-se averiguar o papel docente mediante a importância das questões de gênero e sexualidade na escola por meio de pesquisa bibliográfica, identificar as ações acadêmicas da formação docente inicial e continuada frente à relevância das questões de gênero e sexualidade. A metodologia utilizada foi por meio da pesquisa bibliográfica. Ao longo do trabalho são analisados os conceitos gênero, sexualidade e na formação docente. Em termos conclusivos, indica-se a necessidade de que essas questões estejam contempladas na formação docente, promovendo uma abertura para o debate desses temas.This study has the perspective of discussing the importance of gender and sexuality issues in teacher training throughout the research I have done of documents from Unesco. Its general goal is to perceive how the gender and sexuality issues are or are not present in teacher training confronted with contemporaneous debates on these issues. We sought to verify the teacher’s role faced with the importance of the gender and sexuality issues in the school, through bibliographic research, and identify the academic actions of initial and continuing teacher training confronted with the relevance of the gender and sexuality issues. The methodology used was bibliographic research. Throughout the work the concepts of gender, sexuality, teacher training are analyzed.
