Isso implica maiores investimentos governamentais para a terceira idade e uma reflexão sobre as demandas desta parcela da população. Nesse sentido, a reflexão teológica ganha uma possibilidade muito importante de entrar no debate a respeito do bem-estar social da terceira idade garantido pela legislação com a publicação da Constituição Federal de 1988 e pela lei complementar designada de Estatuto do Idoso, em 2003. O presente trabalho está estruturado em três capítulos, quais sejam, um dedicado à compreensão da terceira idade, outro à compreensão de um referencial teológico que considera a Teologia Pública, a diaconia e o conceito do cuidado, e um último que propõe a reflexão sobre um projeto social de uso racional dos espaços físicos das igrejas pentecostais, especificamente da Igreja Ministerial Apostólica Cristã (I.M.A.C.), em Patos, na Paraíba.With the increasing extension of life expectancy, Brazil has become an older country. This implies in more governmental investments for the elderly and a reflection about the demands of this part of the population. In this sense, the theological reflection gains a very important possibility of entering into the debate about the social well being of the elderly guaranteed by legislation with the publication of the Federal Constitution of 1988 and by the complementary law called the Statutes for the Elderly of 2003. This paper is structured in three chapters which are: one dedicated to the comprehension of the elderly, another to understanding the theological referential which considers Public Theology, diakonia and the concept of care, and the last which proposes a reflection about a social project for the rational use of the physical spaces of Pentecostal churches, specifically of the Igreja Ministerial Apostólica Cristã (I.M.A.C.)
