Trata-se de uma das passagens mais difíceis e mais estudadas do Novo Testamento e é a parte mais importante da carta aos Filipenses. Desde o trabalho Hans Lietzmann, em 1926, a maioria das pessoas estudiosas considera a perícope um “hino” a Cristo. O hino apresenta uma descrição da auto-humilhação de Cristo em sua encarnação e morte, juntamente com a sua subsequente exaltação por Deus para o lugar de maior honra, sendo-lhe concedido o título de Kyrios. A pesquisa tem como objetivo, a partir da análise exegético-teológica da passagem, verificar as perspectivas pastorais e cristológicas do hino. A metodologia empregada foi a histórico-crítico, seguindo-se parcialmente os passos alvitrados por Uwe Wegner. No entanto, a análise exegético-teológica apresenta a forma proposta por Milton Schwantes, em 1982, onde ele aborda o texto perguntando pelo rosto, pés, coração e olhos do texto. Desse modo, a dissertação está estruturada em quatro capítulos. No primeiro capítulo (“o rosto do texto”), apresentamos o texto grego, a tradução provisória, a análise textual (texto grego de Filipenses e crítica textual da passagem) e a análise literária (delimitação, autoria, estrutura e transfundo). No segundo capítulo (“os pés do texto”) discutimos a autoria de Filipenses, a sua integridade literária, o local e a data de origem e os destinatários da carta (a cidade de Filipos e seus habitantes bem como a história da igreja de Filipos e o que sabemos sobre esta comunidade). No terceiro capítulo (“o coração do texto”) realizamos a análise exegético-teológica do hino e a nova tradução de Filipenses 2.6-11. Por fim, no quarto capítulo (“os olhos do texto”) apresentamos as perspectivas pastorais e cristológicas de Filipenses 2.6-11, com o propósito de situá-las no conjunto mais amplo da teologia de Paulo. A análise exegético-teológica demonstrou: (i) o hino é uma chamado para seguir o exemplo da auto-humilhação e auto-rebaixamento de Cristo nas relações eclesiais e comunitárias, bem como para estar sob Seu senhorio; (ii) o hino afirma a divindade, preexistência, encarnação e o senhorio de Cristo sobre todas as coisas para a glória de Deus Pai.This thesis consists of an exegetical-theological analysis of the Christological hymn of Philippians 2:6-11. It is deals with one of the most difficult and most studied passages in the New Testament and it is the most important part of the letter to the Philippians. Starting with the work of Hans Lietzmann in 1926, most academic people consider the pericope a “hymn” to Christ. The hymn presents a description of the self-humiliation of Christ in his incarnation and death, together with his subsequent exaltation by God to the place of highest honor, being granted to him the title of Kyrios. The goal of the research, based on the exegetical-theological analysis of the passage, is to verify the pastoral and Christological perspectives of the hymn. The methodology employed was the historical-critical one partially following the steps proposed by Uwe Wegner. However, the exegetical-theological analysis presents the form proposed by Milton Schwantes, in 1982, where he approaches the text asking about the face, feet, heart and eyes of the text. In this way, the thesis is structured in four chapters. In the first chapter (“the face of the text”), we present the Greek text, the provisional translation, the textual analysis (Greek text of Philippians and the textual criticism of the passage) and the literary analysis (delimitation, authorship, structure and background). In the second chapter (“the feet of the text”) we discuss the authorship of Philippians, its literary integrity, the place and date of origin and the recipients of the letter (the city of Philippi and its inhabitants as well as the history of the church of Philippi and what we know about this community). In the third chapter (“the heart of the text”) we carry out the exegetical-theological analysis of the hymn and the new translation of Philippians 2:6-11. Finally, in the fourth chapter (“the eyes of the text”) we present the pastoral and Christological perspectives of Philippians 2:6-11, with the purpose of situating them in the broader context of Paul’s theology.
